YOGA TEACHER
Why do you move?
I move for my mental health. I feel better mentally and emotionally when I move with intention, whether it’s weight training, a fitness class, or practicing yoga.
I move to gain strength and to support myself in aging with resilience and grace.
You would (or have been) voted most likely to:
Most likely to arrive early, carry everything in one trip, show up with three headbands and four scrunchies, spend five minutes looking for my sunglasses (which are on my head),and another five minutes searching for my keys (which are in my pocket).
One thing people would never guess about me that’s true:
I was a horse trainer prior to going to law school…
Bio
Movement has always been an important part of my life. Coming from a weightlifting background, and struggling with a serious lack of flexibility, I initially turned to yoga just to get more stretching into my routine. But in a short time, it completely changed my life.
Yoga is so much more than movement. I’ve made the most amazing connections with like-minded people through this practice. I truly believe it has helped me become a better human: more aware and more discerning in how I move through the world.
Yoga has become my way of staying present: with myself, with others, and with whatever life brings. It’s helped me show up with more compassion, curiosity, and care, and that’s what I hope to share through my teaching.
Beyond the mat, I’m a wife, mom, and lawyer. My husband is a huge source of support, and my two adult daughters continue to inspire me as they make their way in the world. I love animals and currently share my home with two cats we rescued from Dakin Animal Shelter.
I move every day, usually some yoga, along with strength training and a few classes at CPC each week. I also love spending time in my yard (talk to me about propagating plants!), lighting fires in the firepit (pinecones and birch bark are my go-to starters), reading, traveling, and indulging in some guilty-pleasure TV — from The Great British Bake Off to The Handmaid’s Tale.
My classes are an invitation to come home to yourself — through breath, movement, and presence. You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or experienced — just willing to show up as you are. As a newer teacher, I bring a fresh perspective and a genuine desire to support others in their own journey. My hope is that you leave feeling more grounded, more connected, and more at ease in your own body. This practice has had a meaningful impact on my life, and it’s an honor to now hold space for others. I’d love to welcome you to class.
