LEAD TEEN YOGA TEACHER

Lynn Weppler

Why do you move?

I move so that I can keep moving! I have had injuries throughout my life that are causing early stages of arthritis and moving is the best solution.

What can I expect when practicing with you?

I follow the sequence but will usually switch a few things up! You might hear some silly story from my day and enjoy one of my many playlists.

Bio

I began my journey as an instructor with level 1 Baptiste training in August of 2020 followed by TRX foundations, and SWEAT’s 200-hour teacher certification program in 2021.  I turned to yoga when I was forced to stop running and doing high-impact workouts due to a neck injury in 2015.

All of my life I have been proud of my independence and resilience.  After my injury, I couldn’t find any low-impact exercise that challenged me until I found SWEAT.  I push myself to the edge and strive to offer that in my classes!  Power yoga, TRX yoga, and the community at SWEAT give me an outlet to improve myself both physically and emotionally.  The key for me is to always strive for continual growth.  I see yoga as a life-long practice that will shift and change as I enter new chapters.

In my life outside the studio, I strive to live compassionately whether it be towards my family, my 3rd-grade students, or practitioners on their mats.  I am fortunate to be married to a fantastic guy and we have two teenagers with whom we enjoy sharing our time. As a family, we enjoy skiing and sports; particularly swimming and baseball. These are the times our teens are forced to talk with us on lifts and car rides. Entertaining time, to say the least!  Professionally, I am an elementary school teacher and I am honored to be an instructor at SWEAT.  I take pride in my relationships and am known to share my silly personal stories in class.

In addition to instructing SWEAT sessions, I enjoy bringing the practice of yoga to teens.  My passion stems from the fact that I wish I had been introduced to yoga when I was younger as it has so many benefits that would have served me before and after having children of my own.  I started working with teens through a USA swim team and have since taught yoga to many different types of teen athletes including swimmers, gymnasts, baseball, hockey, soccer, and lacrosse players.
