Why do you move?
I move to come home to my body. Movement anchors me in the present moment and creates space for clarity, balance, and resilience. It’s how I care for my mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Ideal weekend adventure:
A spontaneous road trip to a beautiful lake; spending the day paddle boarding under the sun, followed by a nourishing meal, a glass of
wine, and watching the sunset. It’s the perfect mix of movement, nature, and simple joy.
One thing people would never guess about me that’s true:
I’m an ambivert – I can be social and outgoing when I need to be, but it takes 5 times as much quiet and solitude to recharge my batteries.
Bio
For much of my life, movement was something I used to push, prove, or punish, away to escape my body rather than connect with it. My journey led me through boot camps, spin classes, CrossFit, and jiu-jitsu, always chasing the next challenge. During the pandemic, I taught myself yoga through the Down Dog app, but at the time I thought of it only as stretching or a “recovery day.”
Everything changed when illness forced me to slow down. In that stillness, I discovered movement as something sacred; a way to listen inward and come home to myself. When I moved to the area in 2022, I walked into SWEAT and immediately felt the energy, inspiration, and warmth of the community. That’s when my practice truly began.
What started as curiosity evolved into a calling. Completing Krystal’s 200-hour RYT program was meant to deepen my own practice, but it transformed me in ways I didn't expect. Now, when I teach, I feel as though I’m offering a gift. An hour for students to return to their bodies, find balance, and reconnect with who they are beneath the noise of daily life.
Health and wellness have always been central to my life. My background includes education and certifications in nutrition, CrossFit, and integrative health, all of which continue to shape how I approach movement and well-being. Authenticity, integrity, and respect guide everything I do, including my work off the mat as an operations executive for a global functional medicine company. When I’m not working, you’ll most often find me exploring the outdoors with my partner and our two beloved dogs, Thor, a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, and Groot, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, who remind me daily how to live fully in the present moment.
I feel deeply grateful to have found such a supportive and inspiring community at SWEAT. It’s an honor to now hold space for others here, and I look forward to guiding you through a practice that helps you reconnect, rebalance, and return home to yourself.
