Don’t teach yoga, BE yoga
— Baron Baptiste

Shannon Rolston is a 200-hour Certified Baptiste Teacher and co-founder of SWEAT Power Yoga. She is also a wife, mother, lover of sunshine, red wine, movement-inducing music, a good book, a clean house, and salt air.  Baptiste Yoga has given her a freedom to live louder and the passion to share what she has discovered with others. She believes that this practice is for everyone and every body. It is an invitation to show up and do the work; A space to drop your script and own your story; A call to discover a strength and clarity that allows you to step more fully into yourself. Shannon aspires to teach the kind of class that she loves to take – challenging, fun, fluid and balanced, with room to explore and get a little messy.  The challenge and inspiration for each practice is to show up, step out of the box, and trust that the practice will lead you where you need to be. She is committed to continued inquiry, integrity, and compassion so that she can hold a powerful and fearless space for others.

Jody Buna

Jody Buna

Jody Buna started her yoga journey over a decade ago in Hawai’i and quickly fell in love with the strength, transformation and confidence it instilled both on and off the mat. After practicing yoga across the country from California to Connecticut, she decided the best way to continue her yoga journey was to share her knowledge and passion of the yoga discipline and lifestyle with others. Jody received my RYT 200 certificate from West Hartford Yoga.  Her goal is to bring the beauty, peace and potential that yoga holds to everybody around her. She believes that yoga is one of the ultimate transformative forces. She brings both strength and flexibility to her classes -  with a strong focus on vinyasa flow and restorative postures. Her classes are both adaptable and accessible to all levels and seek to inspire and empower as you learn to tap into your confidence, authenticity and pure potential.

Arlene McLean

Arlene McLean

Arlene McLean is a certified Elementary School Teacher with a Master’s Degree in Education. She has been teaching children in the public school system for over 15 years and has practiced yoga throughout her life. Looking to combine her desire to guide children in developing valuable life long tools and her passion for Baptiste Yoga, Arlene completed the Baptiste Institute’s Kids Yoga Teacher Training Program in 2016.
When Arlene isn’t teaching, she enjoys spending time with her three children, walking her dog, reading a book by her wood stove, cooking and enjoying a good meal, and spending time outdoors hiking, walking on the beach, and breathing in ocean air. She plans on bringing these hobbies and enjoyments into her yoga classes and will guide children by incorporating  ‘Journey Into Power’, creating a class that is developmentally appropriate, energizing, relaxing, and fun. Above all, Arlene is committed to creating an “unstoppable” generation of children who will be empowered to thrive in this world.

Amber Tobin

Amber Tobin

Amber Tobin holds her bachelor degree in Kinesiology with an Education minor. She works as a fitness specialist and coach who loves to encourage people to find their edge.  Her passion for the TRX suspension trainer left her with the desire to spread the knowledge and uniqueness of TRX Yoga flow.  She is a strong believer that sunshine, the ocean breeze, a scoop of ice cream, or a smile can be the cure to just about any worry on the mind. She spent past summers teaching younger children and believes their mindset and playfulness should never leave us even as we grow. Everyone has their own journey to follow and the mind body connection is one of the most powerful connections of all. Being a competitive elite athlete during her time at school, yoga was slowly filtrated into her routine. More than anything it began as a mental release. She has come to embrace that the progress comes in the falls, wobbles, and shakes…not from what we can already do. Yoga is an escape in which we are all allowed to find a different destination each time. Amber is excited to bring you to new limits within your mind and body that you haven’t found before!

Sarah Wallace

Sarah Wallace

Sarah Wallace has been a teacher in the public school setting since 2003, working with young children of different abilities, specifically, Autism Spectrum Disorder.  She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Special Education. Ten years ago after a back injury, she turned to yoga as an alternative intervention and was immediately hooked. She noticed the benefits of her practice went far beyond the physical realm. Yoga improved her mind/body connection and wanted others to benefit from what she had learned. She, introduced yoga within her classroom and noticed an immediate change within her students. Disregulation and negative behaviors decreased and attention to tasks and overall function in her classroom increased. She is a firm believer that having a balance between the mind and body is a fundamental key for overall performance in what we call life, regardless of our age. Dr. Temple Grandin, a well known speaker with autism says, "There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do." This quote translates beautifully to your yoga practice. You CAN do it and Sarah is excited to help you get there, wherever there might be for you.
